Hackney Residents Discover 5 Meditation Classes, Groups and Apps
Hackney residents seeking structured mindfulness options can choose from in-person sessions on specific streets and digital tools tailored to local schedules.
How we reported this

More than 40 people attended the first drop-in meditation session at a converted warehouse space on Felstead Street in Hackney Wick last Tuesday evening.
Interest in these practices has grown in east London as residents balance work demands with limited green space access during peak summer months. Hackney Council recorded a 22 percent rise in wellness program sign-ups between January and June 2026 compared with the same period last year.
Venues hosting regular sessions
The Hackney Wick Meditation Circle meets every Thursday at 7pm inside the Felstead Street warehouse, charging £10 per class with mats provided. A separate group runs Tuesday mornings at the Clissold Park Pavilion on Stoke Newington Church Street, limited to 25 participants and led by a certified instructor who has run the slot since March 2025.
Both locations sit within walking distance of Overground stations, making attendance easier for commuters returning from central London offices. The Clissold Park group also offers a reduced £6 rate for Hackney residents on Universal Credit.
Supporting apps and next steps
Participants at the Felstead Street sessions receive a discount code for the Calm app that unlocks a Hackney-specific guided track recorded along the Regent's Canal towpath. A 2025 University College London study found that eight weeks of combined in-person and app-based practice lowered self-reported stress scores by an average of 14 percent among east London adults.
Interested residents can book the next Clissold Park slot through the Hackney Council website or arrive 15 minutes early at the pavilion. The Felstead Street circle maintains a waiting list via email for its July and August dates.
