Brixton Venues Launch Bowling, Boxing Camps, Soft-Play for School Break
Brixton venues add bowling lanes, boxing camps and soft-play zones for the school break.
How we reported this
Brixton Recreation Centre will open three new tenpin bowling lanes on 8 August alongside its Family Leisure Zone that includes soft play, an interactive agility course and Active Climb.
Brixton Recreation Centre updates
The same Family Leisure Zone at the centre also features a multi-sport simulator and private karaoke booths. Holiday Clubs run Monday to Friday there for children aged eight and above during the school break. These additions give families indoor options that run throughout the summer period.
Afewee, the charity boxing academy in Brixton, launches a kids summer boxing camp for ages seven to sixteen starting Monday 28 July. The sessions take place at the academy facilities and target the same school-holiday window.
Pop Brixton and nearby parks
Pop Brixton hosts Fly-Kid family events on the fourth Sunday of each month, with DJ music, games and giant mascots. Brockwell Park, the 125-acre green space, supplies year-round outdoor choices including the open-air Lido, an adventure playground and a miniature railway that operates from March to October.
Local records list Brixton Windmill as another nearby draw with guided tours and garden picnics available on select weekends through October. These sites sit within short travel distance of central Brixton and connect via established cycle routes to Herne Hill.
Families can review opening times and book places directly through the Active Lambeth site or the Pop Brixton events page ahead of each weekend gathering.
