Walkers start at the entrance off Brixton Hill and follow the path around the lido before climbing the slope toward the windmill. Cyclists use the marked route that links Brockwell Park to the quieter sections of Ruskin Park along Denmark Hill, where the Lambeth Greenways project added new signage and benches in spring 2026.

Trail options close to home

Electric Avenue serves as the main starting point for those who prefer a short urban link before entering green space. From there, a ten-minute walk reaches the southern gate of Brockwell Park, where the Friends of Brockwell Park group maintains a notice board listing daily conditions and any temporary closures. Ruskin Park offers a flatter loop popular with families, and the adjacent Camberwell Grove provides a quiet street climb that connects back toward Brixton without crossing major roads.

Entry to both parks remains free. A half-day bike rental from the shop at 45 Brixton Road costs £12, while the council’s free guided walk on the first Saturday of each month leaves from the Brockwell Park café at 10 a.m. and covers 4.2 kilometres.
