The Ritzy Cinema on Brixton Oval adds a four-week run of independent films paired with live Q&A sessions on Tuesday evenings, while the Black Cultural Archives on Windrush Square hosts a photography exhibition drawn from its own archive that opens on 18 July and runs until 30 August. Both sites sit within a five-minute walk of Brixton Underground station, making them reachable for commuters who finish work after 6pm.

Entry to the Black Cultural Archives show costs £8 for adults and £4 for concessions, with free admission for under-18s on Saturdays. The Ritzy screenings start at £11.50, and advance tickets for the full four-week package are available for £38 through the cinema website. Last summer the same cinema recorded 4,200 tickets sold across a comparable month-long series, according to Lambeth council leisure data published in March.
