Greenwich Civic Centers Launch Adult and Youth Sports Programs

The Town of Greenwich runs adult recreational sports leagues that use dedicated venues including the Cohen Eastern and Bendheim Western Civic Centers. These centers host co-ed volleyball during fall and winter seasons, monthly open gym sessions for ages 6 and older, and resident or corporate teams for players aged 40 and above.

Adult League Infrastructure at Civic Centers

Co-ed volleyball leagues and open gym access operate from the Cohen Eastern and Bendheim Western Civic Centers. Resident and corporate 40+ teams also use these same locations for scheduled play. The facilities support regular league activity without requiring participants to travel outside the town.

Youth Soccer at Old Greenwich Riverside Community Center

The Old Greenwich, Riverside Community Center operates a recreational soccer league open to players age 3 and up. More than 500 players enroll in the program each season. The center additionally fields travel teams for ages 7 and older as well as ages 12 and older.

Volunteer Youth Programs Through Greenwich Athletic Association

The Greenwich Athletic Association delivers volunteer-run basketball for students in grades 2 through 6 and baseball or softball for participants from Pre-K through 6th grade. These programs serve more than 300 young athletes and rely on the same local venue network for practices and games.

Over 500 soccer participants and more than 300 basketball and baseball athletes represent the documented scale of enrollment supported by these venues. The centers and community facility together provide the physical space and scheduling backbone for both seasonal adult leagues and year-round youth offerings.
