Brixton's Sports Venues Support Rugby, Football and Multi-Sport Programs

Papa’s Park is set to open a free six-week football programme for children aged 8-13, coached by former Crystal Palace player Sonny Black and beginning on Thursday 23rd. The launch adds to the network of venues that already host competitive sides and community events in Brixton.

The Brixton Bulls Open Age rugby team secured a 40-16 win against a Bedford side in its most recent match, a result built on a combination of experience and youth. FC Michels 1910 sits at the top of the South London Football League 7-a-side table with 12 points from four wins. Both clubs rely on established local pitches and training areas to maintain regular fixtures and development.

Recreation grounds and open days

Brixton Rec hosted an open day attended by hundreds of residents, with sessions in fencing, boxing, wheelchair basketball involving Brixton Top Cats and Brixton Ballers, and football coaching delivered by Fulham FC. The event demonstrated how one central site can accommodate multiple codes and draw broad participation in a single afternoon.
