Brixton BID, established in 2014 by local businesses, works to make the district a sustainable and distinctive destination for small businesses. Ten independent restaurants in Brixton each received a £5,000 grant from the Dine Local programme, run by the International Downtown Association Foundation and Brixton BID, supported by American Express.
